Green spaces in Sylhet
Tilagor Eco Park, also written as Tilagarh Eco-Park, offers a greener side of Sylhet without the longer journey required for many rural attractions. Trees, small hills and forest paths make it a useful choice for families, students and friends who want time outdoors close to the city.
The park was established in 2006 in Tilagor Reserve Forest on the eastern side of Sylhet. Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha describes a 112-acre setting with small hills, a stream and varied plant life, near Sylhet Agricultural University and Sylhet Engineering College.
Its main appeal is the chance to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. Plan a relaxed walk, look at the trees and listen to the sounds of the forest rather than treating the park as a stop to rush through.
Walking and enjoying the greenery are the simplest ways to experience Tilagor. Published reporting also describes picnic and children’s areas and a wildlife conservation centre. Check which facilities and displays are currently available when you arrive; individual attractions may change.
If visiting animal displays, follow staff instructions, keep a respectful distance and do not feed or disturb the animals. Supervise children around uneven paths and any water features.
Forest paths can be uneven or slippery after rain. Ask about suitable routes if travelling with a pushchair or someone with limited mobility. Stay on permitted paths, use bins where available and take any remaining litter home.
