Keane Bridge

Keane Bridge is one of Sylhet’s best-known historic landmarks, crossing the Surma River close to the centre of the city. The bridge has long been associated with the visual identity of Sylhet and remains a familiar feature of the riverside.

Visitors exploring central Sylhet can combine Keane Bridge with nearby landmarks such as Ali Amjad’s Clock and the Surma riverfront. The area is particularly useful for travellers who want to experience some of the city’s historic urban character without travelling outside Sylhet.

Keane Bridge is a functioning public structure rather than a managed tourist attraction. Visitors should therefore remain aware of traffic and their surroundings, particularly when stopping for photographs or walking around the approaches to the bridge.

Current Status

The bridge not open to any vehicles anymore. Due to the age of the bridge and to preserve it’s structure, authorities have decided that only public can use it to cross on foot only.

Depending on where you are visiting from, it’s easily accessible from centre of Sylhet. Near the court point.

Roughly around BDT 100 – 200 if you are visiting from areas within Sylhet.

Best Transport mode

CNG is the best transport. However, you can use Rikshaw.
